DNS TTL Checker

Inspect record TTLs and compare them with your selected threshold.

Resolved Target:

-

TypeHost / NameTarget / ValueTTL
No records loaded.

How to use this tool

Shows the selected records' remaining TTLs in seconds, minimum and maximum, and whether each is above your threshold. Cached TTLs do not guarantee migration readiness.

Enter the target, complete any relevant options and choose Check. Review the requested records, query outcomes and diagnostic findings. Copy Report saves the visible report.

Reading the results

No matching records and an unavailable query are different outcomes. TTLs are displayed in seconds; zero is a valid TTL. A completed request does not mean a domain passed its health checks. Only the submitted DNS owner and explicitly listed checks are inspected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the tool rate a TTL as high or low?

No. It displays the numeric TTL returned for each row and does not assign readiness labels or recommendations.

Why do different records have different TTL values?

DNS record sets can be configured with separate cache lifetimes. Compare the TTL for the exact type and owner you plan to change.

Why has a reduced TTL not appeared yet?

Resolvers that cached the older record can keep its previous, longer TTL until that copy expires.

Does TTL show how long global propagation will take?

Not exactly. TTL controls normal resolver caching, while delegation caches and resolver behavior can also affect when changes appear.

Why is TTL displayed as a dash?

The resolver path did not supply a TTL for that mapped row. A dash means the value is unavailable in this output.

Can I inspect a subdomain's TTL?

Yes. Enter the complete subdomain so the query targets the record owner whose cache value you need.
