How to use this tool
Displays only SPF policies found in TXT answers. Reports policy count, basic syntax, mechanisms and direct DNS lookup terms; expands includes and redirects with limits. The expansion is a potential upper bound, not sender-specific SPF evaluation.
Enter the target, complete any relevant options and choose Check. Review the requested records, query outcomes and diagnostic findings. Copy Report saves the visible report.
Reading the results
No matching records and an unavailable query are different outcomes. TTLs are displayed in seconds; zero is a valid TTL. A completed request does not mean a domain passed its health checks. Only the submitted DNS owner and explicitly listed checks are inspected.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this checker validate SPF syntax?
No. It displays generic DNS records and does not parse SPF mechanisms, qualifiers, modifiers, or syntax errors.
Does it count SPF DNS lookups?
No. The code does not evaluate include, a, mx, ptr, exists, or redirect terms against the SPF lookup limit.
Why can I not find an SPF row?
SPF is published as a TXT record, not a separate modern DNS type. Search returned TXT values for the v=spf1 prefix.
Can several SPF policies be published on one domain?
A domain should publish one applicable SPF record. Multiple v=spf1 records can produce a permanent SPF error, but this page will not flag it.
Why is the former SPF value still shown?
A recursive resolver may retain the old TXT answer until its TTL expires.
Does a visible SPF record prove mail will pass SPF?
No. The sending IP, envelope domain, DNS terms, and receiver evaluation determine the result for a specific message.
